Get yourself the following: One 3.5mm stereo Y-extension cable (2 female jacks connected to 1 male jack) – google ebay for this. The following worked on this VGN-AR71S Sony machine and may work on other Sony machines or other brands – Please note: I got this idea from another thread or maybe even this thread - bear with me here I'm in a hurry - where someone used a loop between the sound card speaker out and mic in – I have just added a Y-extension so that one can hear sound and not have to record in the deaf so to speak.
